The Story Behind Our Hangul Research
This research began in the classroom, while teaching multicultural students, recently arrived immigrant students, students needing learning support, and students with special education needs who had not yet learned to read Hangul.
Building on the founding spirit of Hunminjeongeum, we researched a Hangul teaching method that lets anyone read Hangul easily and quickly, and put the results of that research into our books and learning materials.
This research continues today through our books, learning materials, teacher training, and real Hangul reading projects.

1학년 따라쓰기 후 글쓰기 발전
한글 쓰기는 저학년 때 잡아주지 않으면 고학년이 되어도 서너 줄을 못 넘깁니다. 따라쓰기는 정답을 스스로 만들어야 하는 부담 없이 자세와 필순, 문장 구조를 몸에 익히는 놀이 같은 훈련이라 입문기 학생의 심리적 저항이 가장 적습니다. 1학년을 스파르타식으로 쓰고 또 쓰게 했더니, 손이 먼저 기억한 문장이 곧 스스로 글을 짓는 밑거름이 되었습니다. 좋은 문장을 반복해서 따라 쓰는 동안 어휘력과 문장력까지 함께 쌓여, 이는 자전거 타기처럼 한 번 몸에 익으면 사라지지 않습니다. 결국 따라쓰기는 글쓰기의 우회로가 아니라, 창작 글쓰기로 가는 가장 확실한 지름길입니다.

외국인 학습자를 위한 첫 한글 학습, 손으로 그리고 색칠하며 시작해보세요. '10일 한글 카드'에 나오는 그림 중 기본 자음(ㄱ ㄴ ㅁ ㅅ ㅇ)과 창제 기본 모음(ㆍ ㅡ ㅣ)을 색칠 학습 교재로 제작하였습니다. 기본 자음 5자 — 초성과 어우러진 자연·동물 삽화 각 자음의 초성 형태에는 그 소리와 어울리는 배경 그림이 함께 그려져 있어, 글자를 보는 순간 이미지로 먼저 기억에 남습니다. ㄱ — 국화 ㄴ — 나비 ㅁ — 매화 ㅅ — 사자 ㅇ — 잉어 이렇게 초성과 소리가 겹치는 사물·동식물을 배경으로 삼아, 학습자가 글자 모양과 소리를 자연스럽게 연결지어 기억할 수 있습니다. 기본 모음 3자 — · ㅡㅣ 천지인(天地人) · ㅡㅣ는 각각 하늘(ㆍ), 땅(ㅡ), 사람(ㅣ)을 본떠 만든 한글 창제의 원리를 담고 있습니다. 이 카드에서는 그 철학적 의미를 그림으로 형상화하여, 단순한 기호 암기를 넘어 한글이 담고 있는 우주관과 이야기를 함께 느끼며 배울 수 있도록 구성했습니다. 학습 효과 손으로 획을 따라가며 색칠하는 동안 시각적 흥미와 정서적 안정감을 함께 느낄 수 있으며, 색칠이라는 놀이 활동을 통해 자연스럽게 소근육을 사용하게 됩니다. 이를 통해 글자를 '보는 것'에서 '그리는 것'으로 학습 경험이 확장되고, 색칠이 끝난 카드는 그대로 나만의 한글 카드 세트로 완성됩니다. 글·그림 홍솔 | 니무와가지 | 2018
